My husband & his well intentioned big mouth

At last night’s presentation of a cheque to the club by Fujitsu my husband did his usual trick….. he opened his mouth again well before he put his brain into gear (no change there).

As a result of this, between him and Nigel they appear to have volunteered me to undertake a sponsored event “CAN YOU TEACH A PARENT TO SOMERSAULT”.

Now Nigel reckons that he can teach me (40+ with no idea) to do a front sommie in four weeks - with Alan encouraging him all the way.  I even heard talk of back sommies, but that is taking things from the sublime to the ridiculous.

Anyway, before you all get too carried away I need to do the following: -

  1. Sleep on it some more and maybe get some counselling for my forthcoming nightmares
  2. See whether I can secure a contribution from my very generous employer FUJITSU who supports a number of local community projects
  3. See what levels of support are forthcoming from friends, family and other supporters of Phoenix Trampoline Club
  4. Take out new health/life insurance policies
  5. Top up my husband’s life insurance policy before I kill him for encouraging the idea
  6. Get a leotard? ……no way, don’t even go there!!!!!!!

I expect Alan will be buying me a surgical collar for Valentine’s Day in readiness for my challenge (if I accept it).

Mo (feeling apprehensive)

Go for it Mo. You've got my full support. I might even do it with you if it helps at all.

The more people up for it the better in my mind, it would be like a mini competition and help us all achieve more - if the coaches can cope with us. I don't know if we are going to get the Fujitsu sponsorship yet so lets not break our necks too early on in the game.

We will give it a go when you are ready Mo! Looking at Peter, he has come on leaps and bounds........... Without casting blame, I can confirm that it was all Aln's idea! Pehaps with a little encouragement. Why don't you have a go Sunday and we can assess your existing ability then we can go for the somie or was it a twisting double somie?
See you Sunday.
Nigel

I love your optimism Nigel, I have to confess I has a sneaky session with Sian at Oakengates today. I'm up for it, not sure I can do it, but I'll have a go. I hope the offers of sponsorship will come flooding in, thank you for yours.
